Rosella Garcia Lake County Public Library ESL Eight sets of Top Notch Pop Songbook (4 levels) with Karaoke CD-ROM & 2 audio CDs with language activities
Deborah Ramstorf Michigan City Public Library ESL - Growing Arab population Purchase Arab-English dictionaries, basic grammar books, and vocabulary books of varying levels.
Cyndie McKinney Michigan City Public Library Basic reading for dyslexics (26) She has demonstrated results with the Wilson Reading Program. She will buy 3 decks of Wilson cards, Wilson readers, and magnetic journals.
Al Tieken Michigan City Public Library GED Science & Math for ESL He wants to develop instructional kits for his fellow tutors. He will purchase hands-on materials such as charts, calculators, compasses, protractors, graph paper, abacus, and models of cylinder, sphere, trapezoid, and cone.
Jane Spirel Read LaPorte County Inc. (Public Library) and Michigan City Public Library ESL She will use the grant to help subsidize her cost for enrolling in a training course. The class is a 4 week $1800 program, which will cover learning, teaching and classroom practices for TESOL. She will receive a SIT TESOL Certificate at the end.

Jennifer Whelpley & Lenore Corcoran South Haven Adult Learning Center Portage Adult Education Purchase materials to work with their ADD adult students. Enclosed copies of reading materials.
Piedad Kerr Nathan Hale Elementary Whiting Reading is Power For 285 ESL & Title I students, purchase multicultural paperback books for children to take home to read & then discuss in class.
Richard Downs & Stacey Previs Tri-Town Center Portage Adult Education — ESL adults Purchase a portable chalk board, individual chalkboards for the students, and dry markers. Also buy easels and dry marker board for ABE students.
Wanda Cavazos Washington Elementary East Chicago Limited English Proficient After school program for 30 ESL students. Visit book store with the parents. Each tutor would be able to purchase a $6.00 item
